-Students will pronounce long vowel sounds with magic e ending while singing the Magic e Song.
-Students will identify words with Magic e effect.
-Students will write Magic e to create flashcards.

Warm-up and Objective Discussion
  1. Using the board write or put magnets to form three letter words with short vowel sounds such as cap, tap, pin, mat ask students to read the words.  Add an e at the end and help students with new words and pronunciation: cape, tape, pine, mate. At the end of the warm up reinforce with flashcards.
  2. Inform them they will listen to a song that will teach them about how the e at the end makes the short vowel sound long.

  1. Sing along to the Magic e Song.  Write down the song’s lyrics.
  2. Have students identify and list the magic e vocabulary while listening to the song.

          Using the charts children will work in pairs.  On the lest side of the chart the students will write short vowel words.  To the right, the students will list magic e words. Children will practice pronouncing the words back and forth.

The student will write a Magic E Rap!  The student will record herself singing the rap and upload it to the class YouTube private channel.

The student will record herself reading the Magic E vocabulary list and send it to the teacher by email.  The teacher will be able to listen to the audio and assess if extra work is necessary regarding the student´s pronunciation.
